Overview
Meals on Wheels Ministry offers a range of services designed to enable older and disabled individuals to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible.
Our primary ministry is Home-Delivered Meal Service. Clients can receive a hot, nutritious, daily meal delivered right to the door. Delivery drivers and volunteers also provide the pleasure of a friendly visit and the comfort of a daily safety check.
Our meal services are available to all eligible persons age 60 and over. Priority is given to older persons with the greatest economic need, greatest social need, severe disabilities, limited English proficiency, dementia and/or related disorders with neurological and organic brain dysfunction, victims of abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and/or risk of institutional placement.
In some cases, a caregiver of a client can also qualify for meals, as may someone who is disabled either temporarily or permanently and under age 60. One of our case workers can provide more information depending on the unique nature of each situation.
You can find out more about qualifying for Meals on Wheels by calling (903) 593-7385.
If you are not in our service area – counties of Gregg, Henderson, Smith, Van Zandt, Upshur, and Wood in East Texas – please utilize the Meals on Wheels America “Find Meals” feature to locate meal services in your area. Click here to access.
